Launch of Sliding Scale the Global Solo Debut of Julie C
Explosive Female Lyricist Announces E.P. & Release Parties
The long anticipated solo project of noted Hip Hop artist, educator, and cultural advocate Julie C is finally here, with the debut of Sliding Scale. For years, Julie C has been making her mark on the underground Hip Hop scene locally and nationally. She is known not only as a fierce, tenacious artist from B-Girl Media, Knox Family, and the legendary Seattle crew Alpha P, but also as a dedicated activist and community organizer with 206 Zulu, Hip Hop Congress, and other local and national grassroots organizations.
Sliding Scale is a hard-hitting, energetic release that exclusively highlights Julie C’s dynamic and aggressive style as a veteran artist and seasoned lyricist. The six song E.P. features production from M.Famous, Phreewil, Neebor, Nitro Fresh, and Boombox Massacre, and is being offered to the masses for free, in digital and (a limited number of) physical formats.
In celebration of the Sliding Scale debut, Julie C will be performing at two events. The all-ages pre-release show will be held Sunday, May 29th, 2011, 4:00pm at the Vera Stage at Seattle Center, as part of the Ladies’ First Showcase at the Northwest Folklife Festival. The 21+ official release party will be held Tuesday, May 31st, 2011, 10:00pm at Lofi Performance Gallery as a part of the Hip Hop weekly STOP BITING.
